SEMH Teaching Assistant – Scunthorpe
Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
Salary: £88.94 – £105 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional guidance and understanding.
Your Role:

Support students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage positively in learning and social activities.

Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement tailored support plans.

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural or emotional challenges.

Help to create a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour (essential).

A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach.

Ability to build trusting relationships and de-escalate difficult situations effectively.

Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term time only).

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education).
