SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Barking & Dagenham, RM9
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long Term, Full Time
Hours: 8:30am – 4:15pm
Salary: £90–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for a supportive, community-focused school in Barking & Dagenham. You will provide dedicated 1:1 support and interventions for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to become part of a welcoming school team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD.

  • Recent experience working in a school environment.

  • A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.

  • Ability to deliver tailored 1:1 support and small group interventions.

  • Willingness to assist with personal care, including nappy changing.

  • A strong team player committed to upholding school policies.
