SEN Teacher – Inclusive SEN School – St Leonards

Salary: Competitive (M1 - UPS, dependent on experience)

GSL Education are working with an outstanding specialist SEN school in St Leonards that is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teacher in this inclusive setting, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. This school is committed to ensuring every student reaches their potential, and you'll be supported by experienced teaching assistants, therapists, and a collaborative leadership team. What You'll Do:

  • Plan and deliver creative, individualized lessons tailored to students' abilities and learning styles
  • Teach across different key stages with a focus on functional skills, personal development, and independence
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and families to implement holistic support plans
  • Manage classroom behaviour positively using strategies suited to students' needs
  • Contribute to reviews, EHCPs, and IEP development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
  • Experience teaching students with SEN/SEMH in a specialist or mainstream setting
  • Strong understanding of autism, learning disabilities, sensory needs, or behavioural challenges
  • Creative, resourceful, and adaptable in your teaching approach
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
