Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils by supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Primary TA, you will provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and develop confidence. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure pupils receive the best possible support in a nurturing environment.
As an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist teachers in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development alongside their academic learning.
- Help maintain an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
Requirements for SEN Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, patience, and empathy skills.
- Ability to adapt and use initiative when supporting different needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
