Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S26
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Sheffield (S26) area. As a SEMH TA, this role offers the opportunity to support pupils’ emotional well-being, encourage positive behaviour, and help students thrive academically and socially in a structured and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
- Encourage pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to inform tailored intervention plans.
Requirements SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH needs.
- Understanding of behaviour management and emotional support techniques.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
