Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Maltby, S66
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a school in the Maltby (S66) area. This role of SEMH TA offers the opportunity to support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them thrive in a safe and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Implement and support individual behaviour and learning plans.
- Encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Support classroom learning and promote engagement with academic tasks.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure holistic pupil development.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs is desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual pupil requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with explanations for any gaps.
