Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S9
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Sheffield (S9) area immediately. As a Primary TA, this role provides the opportunity to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development, while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities as a Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Support the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
- Assist pupils with learning tasks, including one-to-one and small group support.
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a well-organised learning environment.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.
- Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources as needed.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress.
Requirements for Primary Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children in a classroom setting is desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting the needs of individual learners.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with explanations for any gaps.
