SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Tingley, WF3
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Tingley, WF3. As an SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.

Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting engagement and self-confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to deliver individualised support.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages emotional well-being.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to supporting students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude in challenging situations.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
