Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S9
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield, S9. As an SEN TA, you will provide vital support to students with special educational needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and helping them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist in implementing individualised learning plans (ILPs) alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support the classroom teacher with behaviour management, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Foster student confidence, engagement, and independence in academic and social settings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to working with diverse needs.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
