Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S9
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield, S9. As an SEMH TA, you will play a key role in supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively with their learning and reach their academic goals.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and confidence.
- Support teachers in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the right level of support.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and de-escalation skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude when supporting students.
- A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
