Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Dinnington, S25
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Dinnington, S25. As an SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to students, helping them navigate social and emotional challenges while achieving academic success in a positive, nurturing classroom environment.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
- Build trusting relationships with students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Support teachers in creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic student support.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience.
- A compassionate, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
