Job Title: Science Teacher

Salary: £150 - £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-Term

GSL Education are looking to appoint a motivated and skilled Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking y school in Gateshead.
In this role, you will take the lead in delivering engaging and challenging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics, tailoring your approach to support students of varying abilities. You will have the chance to bring the subject to life, encouraging analytical thinking and scientific exploration, all while helping students reach their full potential.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver dynamic and stimulating Science lessons across one or more Key Stages.
- Design and implement effective lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum.
- Track student progress and provide tailored interventions to support achievement.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Science department to support ongoing development.
- Engage in wider school life, including contributing to science-based clubs or enrichment activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
- A degree in a Science-related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
- A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
- A commitment to safeguarding and the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
