Full-Time Teacher of Food & Nutrition – Secondary School in Basingstoke, Hampshire
GSL Education are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and skilled Food & Nutrition Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This full-time role is set to begin in September or October 2025, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful probation period. The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators.
Responsibilities of Teacher of Food & Nutrition:
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food & Nutrition that inspire students and promote healthy lifestyles.
- Plan and implement a curriculum that covers key topics such as food science, nutrition, and culinary skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-equipped learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and enrichment opportunities.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that promote student engagement and well-being.
- Stay informed on current trends and best practices in food education and health awareness.
Required Qualifications for Teacher of Food & Nutrition:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A genuine passion for food education and student development.
- Experience teaching Food & Nutrition or related subjects at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
- Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
