Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield, S2
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield, S2. As a SEN TA, this is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support, helping pupils with additional needs access learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.


As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, tailored to their individual learning needs.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and adapting materials to suit varying abilities.
  • Promoting inclusion and ensuring all pupils can fully engage in school life.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

To be successful as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should:

  • Have previous experience working with children with SEN, such as Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Be adaptable, empathetic, and confident in managing different learning needs.
  • Possess good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
