Job Title: Behaviour Support Officer
Location: Hull
Salary: £89 - £125 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a committed and empathetic Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school in Hull. This role is ideal for someone passionate about guiding students towards positive choices and improving their behaviour and engagement in learning.
Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Officer:
- Provide targeted support to students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement behaviour management strategies.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage positive behaviour.
- Monitor and track student progress, producing reports for senior staff and parents.
- De-escalate challenging situations and maintain a calm, safe environment.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals when required.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Officer:
- Previous experience in a behaviour support, pastoral, or mentoring role (school-based or youth work preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with young people.
- A calm, consistent, and proactive approach to managing behaviour.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
