Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Chapeltown, S35
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to join a friendly and inclusive school in Chapeltown. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will develop and implement behaviour management plans, mentor pupils to build self-esteem and resilience, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a positive and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to support pupils’ behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individual behaviour support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive social skills.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.

Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
