Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Chapeltown, S35
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking to appoint an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming and inclusive school in Chapeltown. The successful candidate will provide individualised support as an SEMH TA to students, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and build positive relationships.
Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and self-esteem.
- Use positive behaviour management techniques to address challenges effectively.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or similar needs.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
