Disability Support Worker – Needed for September
Location: Bordon
Salary Scale: £13.80 to £15 per hour
Start: ASAP /September 2025

One of our Client Schools in Bordon is seeking a compassionate and committed Disability Support Worker to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive school environment and is eager to provide tailored support to students with a range of complex needs.
As a Disability Support Worker, you must be able to create, plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an individual who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.
Responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker:
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with challenging behaviour, Autism, SEMH and mental health needs
- Help promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and a safe learning space
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, tailored support
- Working with children in the classroom setting
- Managing challenging behaviour
- Working with students one-to-one and small groups
Requirements for Disability Support Worker:
- Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar (preferred, not essential).
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs (preferred, not essential).
- Experience working with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings) preferred, not essential
- Can engage children in and out of the classroom
- Feels confident managing challenging behaviour
- Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.

- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
