Job Title: Classroom Support Assistant
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or later
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to work in a welcoming school in Barnsley. As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons, assisting pupils with their learning, and helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities as a Classroom Support Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils within the classroom.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Support children with additional needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Prepare learning materials and assist with general classroom tasks.
Requirements for Classroom Support Assistant:
- Previous experience in a classroom or child support role is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning needs.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
