Food Tech Teacher – Secondary School – Havant, Hampshire

GSL Education seeks a full-time Food Technology Teachers to join secondary schools in Havant. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and practical lessons that develop students’ cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and confidence in the kitchen. The schools’ welcome applications from both Early Careers Teachers and experienced educators, with interviews taking place the first week back in September 2025. The start date will be in September 2025 or after the October 2025 half term.

Role Responsibilities of the Food Tech Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and high-quality Food Technology lessons.
  • Teach students practical cooking skills alongside theory and nutrition.
  • Ensure a safe, organised, and well-maintained learning environment.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support the wider school community and contribute to extracurricular activities.

Job Requirements of the Food Tech Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in food technology and nutrition.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and collaborative working.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
