Job Role: Senior Facilities Technician
Location: A coeducational secondary school in Hackney
Rate: £31,836 - £35,164 per annum
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

As the Senior Facilities Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and students. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Facilities Technician:
- Lead and carry out routine maintenance and repairs across the school site
- Manage and monitor the safety and security of the buildings and grounds
- Coordinate contractors and external suppliers when needed
- Support the smooth operation of facilities, including heating, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Conduct regular safety checks and report any issues promptly
- Assist with setting up rooms and facilities for school events
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and stock levels
Requirements to be a successful Senior Facilities Technician:
- Proven experience in a facilities or maintenance role, preferably in a school or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, health and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work
- Basic DIY and technical skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment for all
