Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Portslade
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Portslade where learning is fun, engaging, and every child is encouraged to reach for the stars. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to be at the heart of classroom life.
About the Role: Working alongside passionate teachers, you'll support pupils aged 4-11 across a range of subjects and activities. From helping with guided reading groups to supporting hands-on science experiments, you'll be an integral part of creating memorable learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support whole-class teaching and facilitate small group learning activities
- Assist with reading, writing and numeracy interventions to boost attainment
- Help prepare engaging learning resources and classroom displays
- Support pupils during playtimes and help develop social skills
- Assist with school trips, events and extracurricular activities
- Work with children of varying abilities, ensuring everyone can access learning
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with primary-aged children in education, childcare or youth work
- Good understanding of basic literacy and numeracy concepts
- Enthusiastic, patient approach with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a busy classroom team
- Commitment to supporting all children to achieve their best
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
