Job Title: Individual Needs Assistant
Location: Shoreham
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Shoreham that believes every child deserves to feel successful and valued. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a profound difference in a child's daily school experience.
About the Role: You'll work closely with one or two primary pupils (ages 4-11) who have specific additional needs, providing consistent, personalised support that helps them access learning and build independence. This could include children with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or social and emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 or small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
- Implement personalised behaviour support plans and communication strategies
- Help pupils navigate social situations and build friendships
- Support curriculum access through adapted resources and differentiated activities
- Work alongside class teachers to ensure seamless inclusion in all lessons
- Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, building confidence and self-esteem
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with additional needs in educational or care settings
- Understanding of primary-age child development and learning
- Patience, empathy and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
