Textiles Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
GSL Education are looking for a passionate and creative Textiles Teacher to work at a Client Secondary School from September 2025 in York, North Yorkshire.
Textiles Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Textiles, aligned with the national curriculum and examination board requirements.
- Deliver practical and theoretical lessons that nurture creativity, technical skills, and independence.
- Prepare students for GCSE coursework and practical assessments, ensuring high standards of achievement.
- Contribute to the development and enrichment of the Design & Technology curriculum, particularly within the Textiles specialism.
- Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school events as required.
Textiles Teacher Requirements:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Textiles at secondary level, including GCSE (A-Level desirable).
- A degree in Textiles, Fashion, Design & Technology, or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge in fabric design, textiles techniques, and practical application.
- Enthusiasm for inspiring students and fostering a love for Textiles.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
