Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham, S61
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Rotherham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, proactive, and committed to supporting young learners academically, socially, and emotionally.

Role Overview:

As a Primary TA, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils' learning, both in groups and one-to-one. Your role will include assisting with lesson preparation, managing classroom behaviour, and providing personalised support to pupils who may need additional help to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities as a Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide classroom support to ensure pupils are engaged and on task.
  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist pupils with additional needs, including those with SEN or EAL.
  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Support classroom management and behaviour strategies effectively.
  • Contribute to the creation of classroom displays and preparation of materials.

Requirements for Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience in a primary school or educational setting is desirable.
  • A nurturing, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
