SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Buckhurst Hill

Location: Buckhurst Hill, IG9
Salary: £95 – £105 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long-term, Full-time
Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM (Monday to Friday)

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? GSL Education is proud to partner with a fantastic primary school in Buckhurst Hill, seeking a skilled SEN TA to join their inclusive and nurturing specialist provision.


About the Role:

In this role, you will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including behavioural challenges. You’ll play a key part in helping learners overcome barriers and thrive both academically and personally.


Key Responsibilities of SEN TA:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs

  • Support teaching staff with lesson delivery and individualised plans

  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation

  • Foster confidence, independence, and a love of learning

  • Create an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom environment


✅ What We’re Looking From a SEN TA:

  • Proven experience working with SEN and behaviour support, ideally in a school setting

  • A resilient and proactive attitude with a nurturing and patient approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Good standard of spoken and written English

  • A current, child workforce Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • A full CV covering at least the last ten years (with gaps explained)
