GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This full-time role begins in September 2025 and offers the chance to support three pupils with Autism and ADHD, helping them flourish both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you’ll provide consistent, individualised support to three children with additional needs, enabling them to access the curriculum and develop vital social and learning skills. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Your responsibilities as SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) may include:
- Delivering tailored support and structured interventions
- Encouraging engagement, communication, and independence
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour
- Collaborating with staff to implement personalised strategies
- Contributing to a warm, inclusive classroom culture
What We’re Looking in SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
- Experience working with children in any capacity (essential)
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- Commitment to the full academic year
