Job description

Flexible Work for University Students in Bournemouth!

Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour
Job Type: Part/Full-time
Start date: September 2025

Are you seeking flexible work around your degree? Have you considered a career within education after graduating? If so, GSL Education are currently recruiting recent graduates and university students for various roles available in the local schools based in Bournemouth.

These roles can be varied on days, hours and activities throughout the day, so whatever you may be seeking, we will have suitable opportunities available. Each role will be involved within the education sector in some capacity, so candidates with a desire of exploring a career within education are ideal.

These roles are excellent for building experience working with children, whilst still completing your degree. As well as building much-valued experience, it is also a great way of securing a permanent position once your university course is completed.

Candidates that do not have a desire to work as a teacher in the future can still apply, as this is a great way of earning money in a very flexible manner (just to top up those student loans). However, these candidates should ideally have previous experience with any of the following either professionally or personally:

  • Learning Difficulties Experience
  • Behavioural Difficulties
  • Psychology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Care worker
  • Mentoring

If you feel like you may be suitable for these roles, please do apply here and we can discuss everything further. As an added bonus, we offer a cash bonus for any friends you recommend... So, get applying!

To Work with GSL Education, you need:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply with GSL Education

GSL Education provides competitive pay rates and personalised support to help candidates secure roles in education, whether they're starting their careers or seeking better work-life balance. With dedicated consultants, they assist individuals in various roles, from support staff to senior leadership positions, offering tailored guidance and opportunities for professional development.

Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
