Qualified Humanities Teacher – Secondary School – Oldham

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Long-term (potential for permanent)
Salary: £165 - £210 per day (Dependent on Experience)

GSL Education Manchester is working with a high-performing secondary school in Oldham to recruit a Qualified Humanities Teacher for a full-time position starting September 2025. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive Humanities department that values interdisciplinary learning and student engagement.

About the Role:
You'll teach a combination of Geography, History, and potentially Citizenship or Social Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4. You'll be responsible for planning creative and informative lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to a collaborative department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Humanities subjects (Geography, History, etc.) across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons

  • Assess and support student academic progress

  • Promote critical thinking, enquiry, and global awareness

  • Participate in enrichment programmes and field trips

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects in a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Humanities

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A flexible and reflective teaching approach
