Learning Support – Mainstream Primary School – Wimborne, Dorset
Start Date: September 2025 | Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £13.68 per hour

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support professional to join a mainstream primary school in Wimborne, Dorset on a full-time, permanent basis starting in September 2025.

In this role, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored learning support to individual pupils and small groups, helping them overcome challenges and engage fully in their lessons. Your contribution will be key to ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils as directed by the teacher
  • Assist in the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage a positive learning environment
  • Prepare and organise classroom materials and resources
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Uphold the school’s policies and safeguarding procedures at all times

Learning Support Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a learning support or school-based role is desirable
  • A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting children’s development
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
