Job Title: Design Technology (DT) Teacher
Location: Sheffield, S2
Pay Rate: £155 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for someone who wants to encourage students to develop problem-solving skills and innovative thinking through hands-on learning.
Role Overview:
As a DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages, guiding pupils through design processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques. Your expertise will help students build confidence in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver creative and challenging Design Technology lessons tailored to diverse abilities.
- Support students in developing practical skills and understanding design principles.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop the DT curriculum and extracurricular projects.
- Promote health and safety within the workshop environment.
Requirements for Design Technology Teacher:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience teaching Design Technology at school level.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
