Job Title: Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Salary: 13.68 per hour
Start Date: September2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time for the right candidate)

GSL Education are recruiting a Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming nursery in Fareham.

Key Responsibilities of the Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant (TA):

  • Support children in their early year’s development through play-based and structured activities.
  • Assist the nursery teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with varying needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children’s personal care routines where required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children in an early years or nursery setting.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
