Position: Teacher of English
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000- £50,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

As a Teacher of English, you’ll deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that develop students’ literacy, analytical skills, and confidence in communication. You will foster a love for storytelling, empower students to express themselves, and prepare them for academic and personal success.
What You’ll Do as Teacher of English
- Deliver inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Encourage a love of reading, writing, and discussion.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess and track student progress, offering constructive feedback.
- Contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking English department.
- Support extracurricular activities such as book clubs, writing competitions, or drama productions.
- Uphold high standards of safeguarding and student welfare.
What You Bring as Teacher of English
- Open to applicants holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teachers (ECT), or those with suitable overseas teaching qualifications.
- Experience teaching English, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- A passion for literature, language, and student development.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Provide an up-to-date CV with two references from the last two years.
- Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
