Are you a passionate and committed Science Teacher looking for your next teaching role?
GSL Education are recruiting for a dedicated Science Teacher to join a thriving mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This full-time, permanent role begins in September 2025 and offers a competitive salary of £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role is open to teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and suitably qualified overseas-trained teachers.
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students in Science across a range of disciplines, helping them to develop curiosity, knowledge, and skills that will benefit them in their education and beyond.
Your Responsibilities as a Science Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across Key Stages, ensuring students of all abilities are challenged and supported
- Monitor student progress, assess work, and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of Science
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science department and wider school community
- Contribute to enrichment and extracurricular Science opportunities for students
- Keep up to date with subject knowledge, curriculum developments, and best practice in teaching
Teacher of Science Requirements:
- QTS, ECT, or overseas-qualified teacher status
- A degree in a Science subject or closely related field
- Experience working as a Science Teacher across secondary schools.
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Ability to inspire and engage students in learning Science
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student welfare
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
