Location: Eastbourne
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Part-time roles also available)
Are you looking to make a positive impact in the lives of young children during their crucial early years?
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join an outstanding nursery setting in Eastbourne, working with children aged 0-5 years. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your early years career while providing high-quality care and education in a supportive environment.
About the Role: This is a rewarding, practical role where you'll work with small groups of children, helping them develop essential skills through play-based learning. The nursery focuses on building confidence, independence, and social skills — all underpinned by kindness, creativity, and professional teamwork.
Experience with early years planning, creative activities, outdoor learning, or supporting children's communication development will be a strong advantage — but if you're still developing these skills, you're warmly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent care and early education for children in their formative years
- Create and deliver engaging, play-based activities that promote learning and development
- Maintain detailed observations and learning journals to track children's progress
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions
- Work collaboratively with parents to support children's individual needs
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times
Requirements:
- Early Years qualification (Level 2/3 in Childcare or equivalent)
- Experience in nursery, childcare, or early years educational settings
- Strong understanding of child development and the EYFS framework
- Creative, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children
- Understanding of safeguarding and willingness to undertake relevant training
- Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
What We Offer:
- Daily pay of £90–£100
- Specialist support from a dedicated education consultant
- Opportunities to develop early years specialism in a supportive team
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
As an ethical, inclusive and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools across the UK.
