About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Support staff member, you’ll play a vital role in assisting students with their learning, helping them overcome challenges, and celebrating their successes. You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff to foster a positive and engaging classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities of Primary Teaching Support

  • Support the development and delivery of tailored education plans.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students, helping them grasp concepts and complete tasks.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers to adjust strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Promote an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Use creative teaching methods to engage diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reports.

Requirements for Primary Teaching Support

  • Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
  • Understanding of the needs of students with varying educational requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport within the school community.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student success.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
