Job Title: Mechanics Tutor
Location: Hull
Salary: £30,000 - £43,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking to appoint a Mechanics Tutor for a thriving school in Hull. This role is perfect for someone eager to share their technical skills in both practical and classroom environments.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanics Tutor:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in mechanics and automotive maintenance.
- Teach practical and theoretical skills aligned with the curriculum and industry standards.
- Maintain and oversee a safe, well-equipped workshop for hands-on learning.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing feedback to support development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create effective resources and support career pathways in mechanics.
Requirements:
- Recognised teaching qualification or strong industry experience in mechanics.
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and health & safety practices.
- Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students to succeed in vocational studies.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
