1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Bournemouth
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their educational journey?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Bournemouth. This full-time role involves providing individualised support to a Year 3 pupil on the Autistic Spectrum, starting in September 2025.

Whether you have previous experience in education or have worked with children in another capacity—such as a sports coach, support worker, nursery practitioner, care assistant, or childminder—we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities of :1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support to a pupil with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Foster a nurturing, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and SEN professionals to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Participate in school activities, training, and meetings as required.

Requirements for :1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children in any capacity.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
