Full-Time Primary Teacher – Year 1 Class – Okehampton  

GSL Education are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Primary Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive SEN school in Okehampton. This full-time position is within a Year 1 class and is set to commence in September 2025. 

The school is seeking a committed educator with at least one year of experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (KS1), who is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for young learners. 

Key Responsibilities of the Primary Teacher: 

  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to Year 1 pupils. 

  • Plan and implement differentiated learning activities aligned with the KS1 curriculum. 

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and support. 

  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child’s development. 

  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development. 

  • Stay informed about best practices and developments in primary education. 

Requirements for the Primary Teacher: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. 

  • Minimum of one year’s experience teaching within KS1. 

  • Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities. 

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps). 

  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
