SEN Teaching Assistant 
Location: Exeter  
Salary: £88.94 per day  
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only 
Start Date: September 2025
 
 
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with young people in an educational, care, or support setting? We’re looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Exeter. 
 
About the Role: 
 
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: 
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs 
• Assist class teachers in delivering tailored learning activities 
• Help implement EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and behaviour strategies 
• Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development 
• Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment 
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure each child thrives 
 
What We’re Looking For: 
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, SEMH) 
• A caring, patient, and resilient approach to working with children 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships 
• Willingness to work collaboratively with a dedicated team 
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Psychology, Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential
