Pay Rate: £13.68–£13.96 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-time

The Opportunity

A warm and welcoming nursery in Southsea is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner Assistant to join their team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting children aged 0–5, helping them explore, grow, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

You’ll work alongside experienced staff to deliver engaging activities, support daily routines, and foster a love of learning through play and discovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children’s learning and development through play-based activities
  • Assisting with daily routines including meals, hygiene, and rest times
  • Encouraging social interaction, communication, and emotional well-being
  • Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
  • Working closely with colleagues and families to support each child’s unique needs

  • A kind, patient, and proactive attitude
  • Confidence working with young children aged 0–5
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptability and a calm, nurturing approach
  • Experience in a nursery or early years setting is ideal, but not essential
