Job Title: Design Technology Teacher (DT Teacher)
Location: Hathersage, S32
Pay Rate: £155 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Technology Teacher to join schools in the Hathersage area from September 2025. If you are passionate about equipping students with hands-on skills in design, engineering, and problem-solving, this is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact.
Role Overview:
As a DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical lessons that develop students’ creativity, technical abilities, and understanding of design processes across Key Stages.
Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that cover a range of topics including product design, resistant materials, graphics, and CAD/CAM.
- Create a safe and inspiring learning environment that encourages innovation and independent thinking.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with other staff to support the wider curriculum and school initiatives.
- Maintain and manage workshop tools, equipment, and health & safety standards.
Requirements for Design Technology Teacher:
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- Specialism or experience in teaching Design Technology at school level.
- Strong classroom management and a passion for creative, practical learning.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Provide a full CV with a clear 10-year history, with any gaps explained.
