Supply Teacher – Secondary School – Eastleigh, Hampshire

GSL Education are looking for experienced Supply Teachers to join our network supporting mainstream secondary schools in Eastleigh from September 2025. This role offers excellent opportunities to gain diverse teaching experience while enjoying flexible work and competitive daily pay. The salary for this position ranges from £94 to £140 per day, depending on your experience.
You will be responsible for delivering planned lessons, maintaining a positive learning environment, and ensuring continuity of education for students in the absence of permanent staff. This position is perfect for adaptable teachers who thrive in dynamic school settings and want to build strong relationships within local schools.
To be a Supply Teacher, your responsibilities will be:
- Deliver lessons according to provided plans and school policies
- Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behaviour
- Support students’ learning needs and provide encouragement
- Liaise with permanent teaching staff to ensure smooth transitions
- Complete attendance and behaviour records accurately
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different classes and year groups
- Manage resources and ensure the classroom is left tidy and organised
- Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure student safety
Requirements for a Supply Teacher:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in secondary schools
- Ability to manage classes effectively and maintain student engagement
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
