Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Royston
Salary: £83 – £95 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently looking for passionate and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis in SEN and mainstream schools in Royston. As SEN TA, this role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working flexibly and want to gain experience supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with additional needs.
- Adapt learning activities and materials to suit individual needs.
- Support the class teacher in maintaining an inclusive learning environment.
- Use de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies effectively.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development in pupils.
- Work collaboratively with staff and SENCOs to deliver individualised support.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools, care, or youth settings).
- A calm, compassionate, and patient manner.
- The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
