Pupil's Support
Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Salary: £13.68 per hour
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-Time considered for the right candidate)

GSL Education are seeking a motivated and caring Pupil's Support professional to join a mainstream primary school in Wimborne, Dorset. This full-time, permanent position starts in September 2025, with part-time hours available for the right candidate.

As a Pupil's Support, you will work closely with teaching staff to assist pupils with their learning and development. Your support will be vital in helping children build confidence, improve behaviour, and achieve their potential within the classroom and beyond.

Main Responsibilities of a Pupil's Support:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils requiring additional assistance
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes as needed
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress alongside teaching staff
  • Encourage pupils’ independence and positive learning attitudes
  • Assist with preparation and organisation of learning resources
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to support individual pupil needs
  • Support extracurricular activities and school trips when required

Pupil's Support Requirements:

  • Experience working in a UK primary school or educational setting
  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Teaching Assistance/Childcare, or equivalent qualification (desirable).
  • A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to pupil support
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
