Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Provide in-class support to students and assist the teacher in managing the learning environment.
- Offer 1:1 and small group interventions to students needing additional support.
- Help implement differentiated learning strategies and behavioural support plans.
- Promote student engagement, participation, and well-being.
- Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN department.
Teaching Assistant (TA) Skills & Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary school pupils or in a classroom setting is desirable.
- The ideal candidate should possess a calm, approachable, and supportive manner.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of students.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
