Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield (S7)
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Sheffield. As a SEN TA, you will help create a nurturing, safe environment where every child feels supported and valued.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Helping manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
  • Fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

To be an SEN Teaching Assistant, a candidate is required to:

  • Experience working with SEN children, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and adapt to individual learning styles.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a relevant qualification or have prior school-based experience.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
