Are you a passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a difference in a specialist primary setting?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a specialist primary school in Brighton, supporting pupils aged 4–11 with complex needs.
About the Role:
This is a full-time classroom teaching role focused on building consistent routines, promoting emotional regulation, and delivering a broad, child-centred curriculum. You’ll be supported by a small team of teaching assistants, therapists, and a strong senior leadership team who are committed to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development.
Experience with structured SEND strategies (such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration) is highly desirable, but applications from ECTs or teachers with a mainstream background and a keen interest in SEN are also encouraged.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet EHCP targets and learning levels
• Establish structured routines and clear expectations in a nurturing environment
• Implement strategies to support communication, sensory regulation, and independence
• Liaise with parents, therapists, and the wider school team to provide consistent care
• Oversee classroom staff and provide direction and feedback as needed
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in line with school policy
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (UK QTS or equivalent)
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a primary setting
• Strong behaviour management skills and a creative, adaptive teaching style
• Calm, resilient, and collaborative approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
What We Offer:
• Daily pay rate of £120–£200
• Specialist support from a dedicated SEN consultant
• Access to further training and development in special education
• Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
