SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, September Start

Location: SEN School in Salford

Start Date: September 2025 (following successful trials/interviews)

Hours: Full-Time (Term-Time, Monday to Friday)

£95-£115 Per day PAYE

 

GSL Education Manchester is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Salford, supporting children aged 4–11 with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and a range of complex learning needs. We are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join the team from September 2025 on a full-time, long-term basis, with trial days and interviews taking place ahead of the start date.

The school provides tailored education to children with a variety of needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)

About the Role:

You will support children with complex SEND needs in their learning and development, helping them to engage in the curriculum and daily routines. The role includes both educational support and elements of personal care, making this an ideal opportunity for someone caring, flexible, and motivated to make a difference.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils to access learning across EYFS and primary phases

 

Assist with behaviour regulation, communication, and social development

 

Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver personalised support

 

Provide one-to-one or small group interventions where required

 

Carry out elements of personal care with dignity and professionalism

 

Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations to the wider team

Experience working with children with complex or profound SEND

 

Patience, empathy, and an emotionally intelligent approach to behaviour

 

A commitment to promoting an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom

 

Ability to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team

 

A willingness to learn and adapt in a specialist environment

 

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) and two professional references
