Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hope (S33)
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a specialised provision based in Hope (S33). As a SEMH TA, this role is ideal for individuals who are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and build trusting relationships with pupils.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Support the emotional regulation and well-being of students throughout the school day.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the past 10 years.
